President Trump hinted that he will seek to ban the sale of non-tobacco flavored vaping products in an effort to get young people to give up e-cigarettes.
“We are going to have to do something about it,” Trump told reporters at the White House, describing vaping as a “new problem in the country.”
The Food and Drug Administration will soon issue guidance on how to take flavored vaping products off the market, said Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, a process that could take months. These products are currently sold under an FDA waiver.
It’s unclear whether vaping companies could take legal action to block a ban. This is HUGE! Vaping abuse by children has been rampant, & companies have been targeting kids!
Cigarettes kill 480,000 a year. E-cigarettes have killed only 450 this year. But you ban E-cigarettes? I see the cigarette lobbyists are putting up a tougher fight because I smoke but do I really need you telling me what to do?
Does the president have the right to do it? Why not other things if that’s the case, maybe from the child’s perspective ban them from being sold to figure out something to prevent them from being sold to minors and derail the usage. Isn’t this a slippery slope?
