In what I believe to a wonderful start to 2021 a bombshell ruling came today when a UK judge denied a request from the United States to extradite WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, arguing that he is likely to commit suicide if sent overseas to face espionage charges.

District Judge Vanessa Baraitser also called such a move “oppressive” because of Assange’s mental health, that they caused not him, but the U.S. government says it will appeal her decision.

“We are enormously gratified by the U.K. court’s decision denying extradition,” Barry Pollack — a Washington, D.C.-based lawyer for Assange, told Fox News in a statement. “The effort by the United States to prosecute Julian Assange and seek his extradition was ill-advised from the start.”

Agreed 100%, you know who got the ball running to get this started? Joe Biden. Let that sink in. In congress there’s been a substantial amount support for legislation to drop charges against Julian Assange and Edward Snowden with former Presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard.

Gabbard introduced HR 1175calling for charges against snowden & Assange to be dropped & to reform the Espionage Act.

The hunt for Julian Assange is Not Over

The U.S. Justice Department said Monday that “while we are extremely disappointed in the court’s ultimate decision, we are gratified that the United States prevailed on every point of law raised.”

“In particular, the court rejected all of Mr. Assange’s arguments regarding political motivation, political offense, fair trial, and freedom of speech,” spokesperson Marc Raimondi said in a statement. “We will continue to seek Mr. Assange’s extradition to the United States.

His friend Pamela Anderson who has been an avid outspoken supporter, even calling for president Trump to pardon Assange Saturday before his hearing, expressed her support of the courts decision to block extradition to the United States Monday.
