A New America For President Trump

There is a new Washington for President Trump after last nights democratic win of the house. The Democrats won as many of 32 seats and could potentially reach a total of 36 seats. While Republicans maintain a majority in the U.S. Senate.

Problems for Trump?

While keeping the majority in the Senate is a great thing, what does losing the House open up for Trump? Well, it entails free reign and perhaps overreaches on the part of the democratic party in the house. It is inevitable that sometime soon we will be looking at the president’s tax returns, current business dealings, what conflict of interests there are with the EPA that conflict with certain laws and perhaps more importantly to the president derail his plan to build a wall along the border of Mexico. What can we expect from a healthcare standpoint?

Must we not forget subpoenas will be flying like bats at a fly convention. I can only imagine there will be many just for the cabinet member practices under the president, Stormy Daniels payments and business dealings President Trump had prior to taking the office. There will also be heavy pushes for another Russia investigation even though one was already done, Robert Mueller may have evidence provided to him that was either road blocked before or more difficult to attain with a Republican majority.

The big question is whether impeachment proceedings will be underway. All they need is a majority vote once the resolution is sent to the judiciary committee then sent to the Senate for a 2/3 vote, that’s the other big question. Who will turn on Trump?

Positive Win for Trump?

While Trump lost the House he still holds the majority in the Senate, don’t mean to sound redundant. This means he can still appoint Justices to the United Staes Supreme Court. Before you ask the House has nothing to do with the confirmation process it’s only the Senate.

We might finally get a resolution to the Dreamers issue. Trump is a huge proponent for prescription drug pricing reduction and the democratic party is as well. Will Trump rally to raise the minimum wage, I think so. It gives him room to pass things that he wouldn’t have been able to do with a Republican House.

Huge Night for Women

A record number of women were elected to the House of Representatives on Tuesday. As of early Wednesday morning, more than 100 women were voted to the U.S. House of representatives.

America voted for their firsts last night. America voted for our first Muslim woman in Rashida Tlaib, our first Native American woman in Sharice Davids, first African American woman in the 7th district in Massachusetts in Ayanna Presley & the youngest woman ever to be elected to Congress in Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Missing This Guy😢

It doesn’t feel complete without Tim Russert here especially in this political environment. I miss the whiteboard, I miss the tough questions, I miss the truth, I miss the way journalism was when it was reporting the News. I wonder what he would ask Trump. You have truly been missed Tim. Meet The Press isn’t what it use to be.
