Cloris Leachman, who won a best-supporting actress Oscar for “The Last Picture Show” and multiple Emmys, has died. Her career spanned 7 decades, Leachman was 94.

Leachman, known for playing Phyllis Lindstrom on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and her own spinoff, died Wednesday of natural causes in Encinitas, California, according to a representative.

Leachman had a tough life early on growing up in the Midwest. Growing up in Des Moines Iowa she didn’t have running water or indoor plumbing. She was famous for being able to adapt to many situations as a star in hollywood probably because as a young girl she learned how to play the piano without an actual piano. Cloris learned how to tickle the ivories practicing on a piece of cardboard outlined with piano keys, that’s grit.

With 22 Emmy noms, she’s the most nominated actress in history, and her 8 wins is the most of all time, tied with Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Simply a legend with great delivery, if you haven’t seen ‘Beerfest’ or ‘Young Frankenstein’ I suggest you check those films out. She was also excellent in her guest starring role in ‘Malcom in the Middle’.

Rest In Peace to a legend and one of hollywood’s true stars.
