Former White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will announce Monday that she will run for governor of Arkansas in what will amount to one of the first tests of the battle for the future of the Republican Party.
The Washington Post first reported Sanders’s plans. Sanders last stint in the political spectrum is when she served almost two years as former President Trump’s press secretary. She did an amazing job giving the fight back to the media, not taking their BS while displaying a great amount of poise and self control. When she’s elected governor of Arkansas, the press won’t stand a chance as she’s already lived under a microscope thanks to former president Trump.
Sarah is also the daughter of former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee who also ran for president in 2008 and 2015. Huckabee’s daughter currently has a paid on air contributor role at Fox News.
Don’t look surprised if going forward Sanders corners the Trump vote in that state as the former president did gather 62% of the total vote in that state. And seeing as President Trump and Sanders had a mutually agreeable split, look for Trump to campaign for her. Going forward considering that the Republican primary in Arkansas continues to stack strong Republican candidates, there’s almost no way he doesn’t.
