Yesterday on July 21, 2020, would’ve been the 69th birthday of beloved actor Robin Williams. Williams committed suicide on August 11, 2014, after battling several life-altering issues.

Please select your choice or feel free to write in your favorite Robin Williams performance in the poll below!

I can’t believe it’s been six years! Robin oozed a bright powerful energy, so much that he gave so much of his gifts to the world to fulfill our voids. How sad we couldn’t have helped this man who had his struggles and was destined to face those struggles alone. He made the world a happier place. We miss you, Robin.

It’s always sad to watch a talented actor leave this earth so early, but Robin Williams was different. His passing has left a huge void in this world at least for me it did. A void that everyone is still very conscious of to this day.

You’re only given one little spark of madness. If you lose that, you’re nothing.

Robin Williams’ Sickness?

Robin suffered from depression was given three years to live with Parkinson’s disease and sadly finding out he had Lewy Body Dementia (2nd most common dementia) certainly would’ve added to it. He was battling an extremely debilitating disease that robs those afflicted with it of both mental capacities and physical capacities as well.

The diagnosis after the autopsy seemed to explain the hallucinations that his wife said he was suffering from too. Dementia is such a cruel & devastating diagnosis.

Favorite Robin Williams Performance?

Is there any performance he didn’t nail? From his 80’s standup shows were SO GOOD omg, and Jumanji, Mrs. Doubtfire, Flubber, Good Will Hunting, Good Morning Vietnam, Patch Adams, Bicentennial Man, Mork and Mindy among dozens of other performances. Even some of his last work like the dog character he voiced was ALWAYS HILARIOUS.

Comic genius is an overused compliment that falls short for Robin Williams. He made us laugh so very hard and so very often every time we watched him perform. The tragedy is he was so unhappy and pained while we all thought his ever-present smile meant he was sitting on top of the world.

Not to mention how can anyone forget his phenomenal appearances on late-night talk shows, something I watch with my stepdad all the time and enjoy. Everything was a prop and he wouldn’t sit still, they just had to let him go, especially Carson.

He was always encouraging others to have a sense of humor, something lacking in the world today. Don’t take yourself so seriously. If you can’t laugh at yourself and appreciate all of our frailties and flaws, it’s YOU who should recognize and come to peace with your brokenness.

I think the saddest people always try their hardest to make people happy because they know what it’s like to feel absolutely worthless and they don’t want anyone else to feel like that.
