Sarah Sanders is taking heat from the left and some others because of a statement she made yesterday to the Christian Broadcasting Network. The interview was conducted by David Brody and Jennifer Wishon of the CBN. Brody asked Sanders for a “spiritual perspective” of the current presidency. I have way more questions than I do answers, and I’m not sure if she’s sincere or fishing for evangelical votes.
“I think God calls all of us to fill different roles at different times and I think that he wanted Donald Trump to become president,” Sanders said. “And that’s why he’s there, and I think he has done a tremendous job in supporting a lot of the things that people of faith really care about.”
Does the line between the operation of church and state exist here? After everything Trump went through and the unprecedented opposition he faced from the media, Hollywood, his own party etc. in 2016 and won, is it possible? It wasn’t supposed to happen, right? Is it apparent and clear that the Hand of God may have been involved?
Is it fair for someone who’s getting paid by the taxpayers allowed to talk about God when she’s on the clock? But aren’t we a Christian nation? I have to ask is this blasphemy? God detests liars, cheats, thieves who use unfair scales, employers who withhold a worker’s wage, injustice, and cruel lawmakers who target the poor, the elderly, the indigent, and the migrant.
If you read the books of 1 & 2 Kings from the old testament, God “allowed” many evil Kings to rule over Israel. However, the ppl typically followed the evil ways of the King. Unfortunately, we see many people following the way of this “king”. This does not mean God is pleased with the ways of the “king”.
Even the Roman Philosopher Seneca made an interesting observation. “Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful.”?
