Multiple outlets are reporting a suicide bomber detonated explosives outside the United States’ main Bagram military base in Afghanistan on Wednesday, Afghan and NATO officials said.
There were no U.S. or coalition casualties, but a medical base being built for locals was badly damaged. The facility being built was to assist and help the community of Afghanistan. Officials have reported zero casualties but they expect there could be some especially because there were several homes destroyed.
The initial reports were that the bombing was believed to have targeted military convoys in the region since organized groups bomb on a regular basis.
The ministry of interior also reported around the same time that Afghan police said they, “discovered & seized an explosives-laden vehicle carrying 12 suicide vests, two AK-47 rifles, as well as hand grenades & military equipment in Kabul City. ”
They were able to save lives and stop a massive terror attack and we are glad that there are people who do jobs like these that protect lives and ensure public safety.
