Well-known conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has been arrested in Texas on a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated, authorities say.
According to a spokeswoman for the Travis County sheriff’s department, Jones was booked into the Travis County Jail in Austin at 12:37 AM, and released on bond several hours later at 4:11 AM.
Jones, of course, is the founder of InfoWars where he talked about his blood level alcohol on his radio show and he claims it was lower than the legal limit of .08%. He claims it was “dragnet operation” and had only been drinking a little Japanese sake.
However, the story takes a turn as Jones’ wife called the sheriff’s department on Monday night to report a “family disturbance” between her and Jones. Jones’ wife added that he had possibly been drinking, according to the report. The Sheriff’s Department even said he failed a sobriety test.
“The disturbance now was only verbal but earlier in the day it ‘was physical,’” the affidavit reads. The police report disputes Jones’ claims that he was fine and looked like he had more than what he was saying because when they pulled him over his eyes were “glassy and watery.”
