Heather Nauert withdrew herself from consideration for U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. Heather Nauert’s nomination began to falter after the White House was alerted that a problem had cropped up in her background check Trump’s pick for UN ambassador had employed a nanny who was in the United States legally but didn’t have a US work permit.
Nauert not expected to return to her job at the State Department spot either nor is it said if she will return to fox news in a correspondent role again either. United States Secretary of State had a farewell statement for the former proposed nominee to the United Nations. Pompeo said, “nothing but the best in all of her future endeavors.”
The State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert was “under very serious consideration” for the role as UN ambassador once upon a time late last year by President Trump. Trump was attempting to pick a replacement for the role left open by Nikki Haley when she resigned last year.
Heather Nauert had some very heartfelt words after withdrawing herself for consideration, “I am grateful to President Trump and Secretary Pompeo for the trust they placed in me for considering me for the position of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. However, the past two months have been grueling for my family and therefore it is in the best interest of my family that I withdraw my name from consideration. Serving in the Administration for the past two years has been one of the highest honors of my life and I will always be grateful to the President, the Secretary, and my colleagues at the State Department for their support.”
The State Department put a statement out afterward “The President will make an announcement with respect to a nominee for U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations soon.”
Let’s hope they are able to do a thorough background investigation on the next proposed nominee.
