After a long and eventful career in politics, Mitt Romney has announced that he will not be running for a second term in the US Senate(UT). This decision marks the end of an era for the former Governor of Massachusetts and two-time presidential candidate SS term will come to an end in 2025.

Rumor has it Mitt’s internal polling showed him losing to a potted plant in the upcoming election, so he decided retirement was the better option! But back to being fair…

Although he fell short in that race, it was just the beginning of his political journey.In 2002, Romney ran for Governor of Massachusetts and emerged victorious, becoming the 70th Governor of the state.

During his tenure, he focused on improving the state’s economy, implementing healthcare reforms, and balancing the budget.Romney’s success as Governor catapulted him onto the national stage, and in 2008, he ran for the Republican nomination for President.

Despite facing tough competition, he managed to secure the nomination but ultimately lost to Barack Obama in the general election. Undeterred by his defeat, Romney made another bid for the presidency in 2012.

This time, he faced off against the incumbent President Obama once again. Although the race was fiercely contested, Romney was unable to secure enough electoral votes to win the presidency.Following his unsuccessful presidential campaigns, Romney continued to be active in politics.

In 2018, he announced his candidacy for the US Senate seat in Utah, which he won by a significant margin. During his time in the Senate, Romney has been a vocal critic of President Donald Trump, often diverging from the party line to voice his concerns.
