The Senate acquitted President Donald Trump almost entirely along party lines on charges of abusing his power and obstructing Congress on Wednesday, bringing an end to the third presidential impeachment trial in United States history.
On the first of two articles of impeachment, Mitt Romney of Utah was the lone Republican to vote to convict Trump, along with all Democrats and independents. On the second article, obstruction of Congress, the president was acquitted in a pure party-line vote with all Republicans voting not guilty and all Democrats and independents voting guilty.
It’s blatantly obvious that the only “evidence” the Democrats could provide was 5th hand hearsay by people who weren’t even in the room when things happened, they failed themselves and failed the American people by exploiting what happens to the minority on a daily basis. With this hearsay evidence and theatrical these Democrats pulled, well any minority would’ve been convicted because most times they usually are and done so with less. Even the President of Ukraine said them was no quip pro quo. These people are so disconnected from reality.
“The Senate should convict President Trump, remove him from the presidency and disqualify him from holding future office. The guilt of the president on these charges is so obvious that here again several Republican senators admit that the House has proved its case,” said Senator Chuck Schumer.
How can you convict on PRESUMPTIONS of people that disagreed with his foreign policy? For anyone that watched the impeachment and trial, it’s beyond logical thinking, that one could still hold to this opinion. Shouldn’t one be convicted based on overwhelming evidence, not false narratives?
Then again they voted for a woman who threatened/intimidated the victims of her husband’s sexual assault instead of going after her husband as she should have.
A two-thirds vote was required to convict on each of the two articles of impeachment, and while several Republicans had said they believe Trump acted inappropriately in his dealings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, no others have said they believe his conduct was impeachable.
Trump is the third president to be impeached in United States history. None have been removed from office. Can the democrats just stop with all the shenanigans, please? The American people are tired of their witch hunts and three of them wasting our money.
