Retired Red Sox legend David Ortiz has reportedly been shot in the Dominican Republic. David Ortiz was shot in his hometown of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic during a robbery. He was shot in the leg and underwent surgery and is expected to make a full recovery.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Ortiz. The RedSox have offered a private plane to fly David Ortiz to the United States for any additional treatment, if necessary.
