The 2024 US Presidential election is already heating up, and Mike Pence is among the names that have been touted as the potential Republican nominee. However, while he might have served as Vice President to Donald Trump, Pence’s qualifications and suitability for the Presidency are debatable.
In this article, we will explore the reasons why Pence is not a diplomatic candidate, has a corrupt background, and is generally a poor choice as the President of the United States.
Mike Pence
Foreign Policy
Mike Pence is not a diplomatic candidate. During the Trump administration, Pence was tasked with leading diplomatic talks with North Korea. However, he was only able to make limited progress. Pence’s lack of diplomatic skills ultimately led to him becoming a figurehead in the talks, with Trump taking over the negotiations personally.
When Donald Trump made his infamous comment about Kim Jong-un having written him “beautiful love letters,” it was a sign that Pence had failed to build any meaningful diplomatic relationships with the regime.
Corrupt Background?
Additionally, in 2018, a group of journalists uncovered serious financial irregularities in the funding of Pence’s gubernatorial campaign. There were buried donations, off-the-books money transfers, and suspiciously low vendor payments. The investigation led to a probe and eventual settlement with the Federal Election Commission.
Inept to the Left?
In addition, if you ask the left who Pence needs, Mike does not have the political skills needed to unite a divided country.
The lefts perception of Pence was he consistently stood by Donald Trump’s divisive statements and policies, even when Trump’s actions were causing a supposed “national crisis”, Pence failed to speak out.
To them he remained staunchly loyal to Trump, no matter the cost. In a time when the country is more politically divided than ever, having a unifying leader is crucial. Mike Pence has demonstrated that he is not the right person for them to fill that role.
Finally, Pence’s leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic was dismal. He oversaw the government’s response to the disease, and it was a disaster. Pence refused to wear a mask or follow social distancing rules during public appearances, even when they were required by local laws.
He ignored expert advice, downplayed the severity of the virus, and thanks to the left heavy press in America the way they painted Trump it equated to Trump mismanaging the crisis, which to me wasn’t so. Therefore, through the lens of the left, hundreds of thousands of Americans died as a result of Donald Trump, and Pence was complicit in their deaths.
Pence has zero shot at winning anything!
Conclusion
Mike Pence’s candidacy for President in 2024 is misguided and dangerous. He has shown himself to be lacking in key areas such as diplomacy, ethics, leadership, and pandemic response. Moreover, he has demonstrated a willingness to put politics over the wellbeing of the American people. The country needs a leader who can unite us, guide us through crises, and uphold the values of democracy. Mike Pence is not that leader.
During his time as Governor of Indiana, Pence signed a law banning women from choosing to have abortions based on a diagnosis of Down syndrome. The law was struck down by a federal judge, but it revealed Pence’s extremist anti-abortion stance.
