The former Senator, former Trump cabinet member, and former Attorney General Jeff Sessions is officially running for United States Senate in Alabama, again.
We haven’t really heard from sessions since he left, which I’m sure President Trump really likes. Even with the outbursts at Sessions, he was always loyal to the President.
In the ad, Sessions addressed the camera and said, “When I left President Trump’s Cabinet, did I write a tell-all book? No. Did I go on CNN and attack the president? Nope. Have I said a cross word about our president? Not one time.”
He went on to explain, “I’ll tell you why: First, that would be dishonorable. I was there to serve his agenda, not mine. Second, the president is doing a great job for America and Alabama, and he has my strong support.”
It will be interesting if the president will be forgiving towards Sessions or not given the fact that he can truly hold a grudge. Would Sessions be able to win without an endorsement by Trump? I’m not sure, but Trump is still incredibly popular in the state of Alabama.
While others in the field are mocking and criticizing Sessions’ history with President Trump he is still showing support to Trump. Remember Sessions was the first sitting Senator who backed Trump in 2016.
