If you are not a U.S. citizen, you have the right to speak to your home country’s embassy or consulate. Immigration or police must allow you to speak with them. If at home, you do not have to open your door unless the officers show you a warrant signed by a judge, justice of the peace or magistrate. Unless a judge, justice of the peace or magistrate signed the warrant, an officer cannot enter your home.
