President Trump & First Lady Tests Positive for Coronavirus

President Trump and first lady Melania Trump tested positive for coronavirus, the President announced late Thursday morning, an extraordinary development coming months into a global pandemic and in the final stretch of his reelection campaign.

The stock market futures tumbled on news of Trump’s infection, futures have fallen by more than 1.6%.

The president’s physician said Mr. Trump was “well” without saying whether he was experiencing symptoms and added that the president would stay isolated in the White House for now. stock market futures tumbled on news of Trump’s infection.

“The president and first lady are both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence,” the physician, Sean P. Conley, said in a statement without saying how long that would be. “Rest assured I expect the president to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering, and I will keep you updated on any future developments.”

Other aides to the president would not say whether he was experiencing symptoms, but people at the White House noticed that his voice sounded raspy on Thursday, although it was not clear that it was abnormal for him, especially given the number of campaign rallies he has been holding lately.

The President had said late Thursday night that he planned to quarantine after one of his closest aides tested positive for the infection.

After the president’s positive COVID test, the White House announces his trip to Florida (sent out just three hours ago) is canceled.

Trump says Hope Hicks had a hard time staying away from people when soldiers and law enforcement come up to her and want to say hi, because she’s very “warm,” and you have to treat people well.

The statement from the White House doctor does not address whether the president or First Lady has symptoms. People noticed the president’s voice was raspy today but some chalked it up to a busy week.

Letter from the Physician of President Trump

Here’s wishing the President and the first family best wishes and a speedy recovery. A spokesperson for Vice President Mike Pence did not immediately respond to requests for comment about whether he has been tested. If Pence tests positive is the mantle passed immediately to Pelosi? Is she President yet? God, I hope not! President Trump gets well soon!
