Felicity Huffman Sentenced to Only 14 Days in Prison

Actress Felicity Huffman was sentenced to 14 days in prison. She’s the first parent punished in a sweeping college admissions scheme. The 56-year-old actress will also have to pay a $30,000 fine, complete 250 hours of community service and have one-year probation.

Prosecutors want Huffman to spend one month in prison for her crime and said her daughter was not aware of the crime. She pleaded guilty last May. The case sparked “a national conversation, a kind of test for middle-class angst about college admissions,” they said in court papers. Yet this process in my opinion failed

“I find Motherhood bewildering,” the “Desperate Housewives” star wrote in a 1,400-word letter to Massachusetts Federal Judge Indira Talwani. “From the moment my children were born I worried that they got me as a Mother. I so desperately wanted to do it right and was so deathly afraid of doing it wrong.”

Huffman and 13 others defendants pleaded guilty as well in her statement she said, “I am in full acceptance of my guilt, and with deep regret and shame over what I have done. I accept full responsibility for my actions and will accept the consequences that stem from those actions,” Huffman tearfully said as she pleaded guilty in court on May 13.

Lori Loughlin who is best known as Aunt Becky on the sitcom “Full House” and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, who are fighting charges they paid Singer $500,000 to get their two daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella, into USC as recruits for the university’s crew team, despite the fact they’d never participated in the sport. It’s reported Singer was paid $25 million over his career doing this.

Is this morally wrong?
