When I say modern Era, I’m speaking of work done by a wide receiver post-1980 -Current. I base this list on great work ethic, longevity, amount done in a period of time, records, stamina throughout the game, big time moments for them and their teams, and the impact they left on the game.
🏈 – Inducted into the NFL Hall Of Fame
Honorable Mentions: We don’t have any, this list is perfect!
So much more we wanted from “Megatron”, but he walked away to soon. He was better than the rest, almost outshining the number 2 player on this list. His records stand as a HOF type of list.
He was Jerry Rice before Jerry Rice
Without him, there would be no “greatest show on turf”.
Mr. Seahawk, the most underrated wide receiver on this list.
Reunited and it feels so good, it sure did especially when he got back with Jimmy Johson and won three SuperBowls.
This man is responsible for nearly 25% of Peyton Mannings 534 career TDs.
I really don’t care if he’s still playing, this man is so good the only thing missing from his resume is a chip💍.
Chris Carter 🏈
He was so good if not for one guy he would’ve ruled the 90’s like the best wide receiver in the league. Defenses hated him so much he took bounties out on the defense.
He could be number one if not for the “mouth of the south” antics that came with him, I even think he could play now. At one point he was second in yards, now that is held by Fitzgerald.
It’s all about the game and how you play it. Swag, athletics, football IQ and speed places Miss number 2 on this list.
Jerry Rice 🏈
Was there any doubt? Whether its this era or any other, Jerry Rice is the Greatest Ever to play Wide Receiver.
